Coffee

I don’t drink coffee. Or tea.

I see a lot of people buying time with coffee. Perhaps they didn’t sleep enough, so they drink coffee to make up for it. In this way they consider that they have bought time by offsetting the need for sleep.

I don’t have time for coffee. I don’t think the calculations work out correctly. I see people spend over a half hour a day buying or making or drinking coffee. Coffee costs money too. Money costs time. If we didn’t need money we wouldn’t work.

I would estimate based on my sample of working white collar professionals in New York City that such people lose about 40-50 minutes per day to coffee all in all. Imagine all that extra sleep.
